We are located in the heart of uptown Saint John, ideally situated to provide dental care to Saint John and surrounding areas. We offer extended hours and parking in front of our building for your convenience.
Once an appointment has been scheduled, this time has been reserved exclusively for you. If you are unable to keep your appointment, please call our office to reschedule. One working day (24 hours) notice in advance to your scheduled appointment is appreciated. Recurrent changes without 24 hour notification is subject to a charge on your account.
Payment is due at the time that services are rendered. This includes co-payment and deductibles (balances not paid by your insurance).

Dr. Jerry Wowchuk – Dentist
Dr. Jerry was the sole practitioner of this dental practice for more than 35 years.
Dr. Jerry obtained his Bachelor of Science from Loyola College in 1972 and his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1976 from McGill University. After graduating from dental school he worked as an associate with Dr. McMaster and Dr. Jay on Waterloo Street for a year before starting up on his own.
Dr. Jerry Wowchuk’s dental clinic moved from its original location on Waterloo Street to the present location in 1990. The clinic was renamed in 2010 to Trinity Royal Dental Clinic which seemed like an appropriate name due to the location of the building in the historic heart of Saint John.
He currently resides in Rothesay with his wife Marlene. He has 3 grown children with 6 grandchildren. He enjoys working out, kayaking, biking, gardening and traveling.
Dr. Julia Wowchuk – Dentist
Dr. Julia joined her Father’s dental practice in 2010. Along with the name change the practice underwent a face lift and a few months of grueling renovations. The newly transformed clinic provides a calming atmosphere with superior patient service and comfort in mind.
Julia obtained her Bachelor of Science from McGill University in 2003, Doctor of Dental Surgery from Dalhousie University in 2009 and Master of Business Administration from Saint Mary’s University in 2010. Before returning home, she practiced dentistry for a year in Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland.
Julia and her husband Andrew, have two young children. They enjoy staying active and being outdoors.
Amanda McDonald – Registered Dental Hygienist
Amanda has been working with Trinity Royal Dental Clinic for 9 years. In this time she has become a valuable asset to our team by promoting and ensuring optimal oral health to our patients and understanding individual needs.
After acquiring a business degree at UNBSJ, Amanda attended Dalhousie University where she obtained her Diploma in Dental Hygiene and is now self regulated. Amanda has expanded her dental hygiene career both extrinsically and intrinsically by participating in dental missions. Her first trip was to a small Jamaican village called “Mafoota” in October 2011. She hopes to continue this rewarding experience with future plans to visit Haiti.
Amanda grew up in Millville but now resides in Quispamsis with her husband Colin of 8 years and 3 busy children. She enjoys running, spinning, reading, DIY projects and spending time with family and close friends.
Kathy McCavour Sessamen – Registered Dental Hygienist
Kathy recently joined our clinic in 2013. She brings with her much experience having worked in a periodontal specialty clinic for 22 years and also as a Certified Dental Assistant in Saudi Arabia.
Kathy obtained her certificate in Dental Assisting in 1980 from Holland College in Charlottetown, PEI. After working as a dental assistant for a few years, she furthered her education by obtaining an associate degree in Applied Science and Dental Hygiene from Coastal Carolina Community College in Jacksonville, North Carolina in 1991.
She currently resides in west Saint John with her husband Ron.
Brenda Phinney – Registered Dental Hygienist
Brenda joined us in 2014, filling in a maternity leave position and currently working 2 days per week in the practice.
After graduating from Dalhousie university’s Dental Hygiene program in 1979 she has worked in both government and private practice settings.
Although born in Halifax she has resided in Millidgeville most of her life. She has been married to her husband Rob for over 30 years and has raised 2 boys and now has a grandson who she loves spending her free time with.
JoAnn Russell – Certified Dental Assistant
JoAnn has been working with Dr. Jerry for 26 years and has gotten to know all of our loyal patients who have been coming to the clinic since it first opened. Along with being Dr. Jerry’s helping hands, JoAnn acts as the foundation of our clinic by ensuring all products are available to allow our clinic to run smoothly.
After completing Dental Assisting at Holland College in PEI 36 years ago, JoAnn moved to Saint John to work as a dental assistant. During her career she has furthered her education by completing the orthodontic module and working in an orthodontic clinic for a few years.
Originally from PEI, JoAnn has been married to her best friend, Rick for 35 years and they have two grown children, and have become parents to a Yorkshire terrier, Bob Marley. JoAnn enjoys long walks, yoga, reading, cooking, PEI summer vacations, winter southern destinations and most of all time with her family and friends.
Sherree Ann Pablo – Certified Dental Assistant
Sherree Ann came to Canada from the Phillipines to work for a family in Rothesay. After 6 years, she decided to further her career and took dental assisting. She also has a bachelor of sciences in commerce, majoring in management accounting.
Sherree Ann joined our team in 2014 and her friendly demeanor and exceptional care of Dr. Julia Wowchuk’s patients make her a valued asset to our office.
She enjoys walking, skiing and is actively involved with her church.
Jackie Lord – Office Administrator
Joining us in August, 2011, Jackie has brought with her fresh ideas and years of dental experience, and she is always a welcoming face to patients arriving at our clinic.
Upon graduating from Career Canada College in Ottawa in 1988 with a diploma in Dental Assisting, Jackie worked for 20 years as a Certified Dental Assistant/office administrator with Dr. Neil Flemming/Dr. Sara Hunter combined, until both dentists moved out of the region.
Born in McAdam, Jackie has been living in Saint John for most of her life. Along with her partner, Peter, of 11 years, they have a combined family of 4 grown children along with 3 grandchildren. She enjoys researching genealogy, walking, reading, sewing, DIY renos and more than anything else, spending time with family and friends.
